Isaiah 54:13  All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children.

I joined the Grace Lutheran family in 2017 as a first year teacher for the school, but as a veteran teacher of 19 years serving in Christian education.  I am very excited to begin my second year of teaching kindergarten at Grace Lutheran School.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University and my AA and AS degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Management from Florida State College at Jacksonville.
I believe that kindergarten is a very special year for both children and their families.  It is a year of many "firsts", including making new friends and learning how to read and write.  It is also a wonderful year of self-discovery!  As children go about their day in my class, they will have many opportunities to ask questions, problem-solve, create, and explore through hands-on STEM activities, manipulatives, stories, online learning websites, and group discussions.  They will also be given all the fundamentals they need for early reading and writing.  Most importantly, they will gain a strong foundation for their Christian walk by hearing old testament stories and learning about the life of Jesus. They will sing traditional Sunday school songs, as well as praise and worship songs with sign language to accompany them! Christian morals and values are woven into all activities as children learn how to treat others with kindness, love, and respect.  Most importantly, they learn how to show the light of Jesus in their actions, thoughts, and words.
Kindergarten promises to be an exciting year full of fun and learning, and I feel blessed to a part of kindergarten life here at Grace Lutheran School!
