Grace Lutheran School

Jacksonville, Florida

The 8th graders did an excellent job today presenting our morning chapel service. They shared the importance of Christ connecting us to God through his life, death, and resurrection, the gift of Baptism, and how we bear fruit for Him as we connect with others.

Thank you to parents, also, for practicing their lines with them, going to the store for veggies and fruits for our props, and for your encouragement! Thank you, too, to those parents who attended our chapel service to lend your personal support.

Welcome to Mrs. Jaeger's Webpage!

Our theme verse this year is John 15:5, "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." At Grace, we are Connected to Christ and Connected to Community. It is my prayer that my students will grow in their connection to Jesus, that He may continue to perfect their faith and strengthen their leadership abilities as they connect with others.

I am cheering for my students along this journey! I am ready and willing to guide them on this course, clearing roadblocks and soothing sore spirits. For those who are new this year, it may take a little while to establish trust. To help begin the process of relationship-building between us, allow me to introduce myself.

This is my second year at Grace Lutheran as 8th-grade homeroom teacher. My husband Brian and I have two children at Grace: Helena is beginning sixth grade, while James is starting fifth grade.

I hold a degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and a teaching certification in secondary English from Carroll University. I completed a teacher colloquy program through Concordia – Mequon in 2013. I hold teaching licenses in Wisconsin and Florida. I have been teaching middle and high school English since 2004, with an intermission for raising my children while working in ministry at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

I enjoy hiking, biking, reading, and traveling. This past summer, my family drove 3,000 miles round trip to visit friends and relatives (and explored a few states we'd never set foot in before!). Some of the most fascinating places I have visited include England (study abroad), Tijuana, Mexico (mission trip), and California (summer internship in magazine publishing).

As I seek to teach children, I am always mindful that I am praying for the Lord to teach me, too. “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long” (Psalm 25:4-5).

May God bless us as we encourage each other to stay Connected this coming school year!
