5th Grade

MeWelcome to 5th Grade for the

2018-2019 school year!

My name is Stephanie Edgar! I will be your child’s 5th grade teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. This will be my 1st year teaching at Grace and my 11th year teaching overall. I look forward to partnering with you and your 5th grader in their educational and spiritual growth.  I'm also excited to jump right in and coach JV Volleyball!

I moved around a lot growing up.  I was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  I went to Liberia, West Africa, when I was four and a half months old because my parents were missionaries there at the time.  When I was six, we moved to St. Louis, Missouri. After I finished 6th grade, we moved to Aurora, Illinois. I graduated from 8th grade and homeschooled for one year to catch up age-wise.  For my freshman year of high school, my family moved to Westwood, New Jersey. My senior year of high school, my family moved back to St. Louis, Missouri.  I then chose Concordia St. Paul in Minnesota for college.

In 2007, I graduated with a Bachelors of Education in Secondary Education (5-12) from Concordia St. Paul University.  I student taught in Shanghai, China, and then spent two and a half years in Taiwan as an overseas missionary teaching English as a Second Language.   While serving in Taiwan, I received my Masters degree in Literacy from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I then moved to Perryville, Missouri, where I spent five years teaching 6th grade as well as Kindergarten-4th grade Computer classes.  I also met my husband, Aaron Edgar, and we were married on April 11, 2015! We then moved to Billings, Montana, where I taught 6th-8th grade classes and where we had our son, Dakota, who will be 2 in September.

In my time away from teaching, I love to read, cook/bake, watch TV and movies and spend time with my family.  We are having fun exploring Jacksonville and would love suggestions of places to go and places to eat.
